Peter Härtling

Peter Härtling

Peter Härtling, 1933-2017, lived in Mörfelden-Walldorf/Hesse and is one of the most significant authors of German children’s literature. His work has been awarded numerous literature prizes. His most recent book to appear with Beltz & Gelberg was "Reise gegen den Wind" (Trip Against the Wind) (2000). “Härtling cannot stop attempting to counter the lack of emotion with depth.“ FAS "Peter Härtling writes his children’s books out of anger at adults’ lies – and for his love of children.... His books depict reality in today’s society. It is possible that books like Ben Loves Anna, That was Hirbel or Oma are more current today than ever before, because their author was ahead of his time regarding anger and critique. " Bücher
