Sixteen-year-old Maia finds herself in an exciting phase of her life—but also in a dangerous one: shortly before her A-levels. As one of three children, each from a different father, she is sometimes subject to ridicule, but she does not let herself be pushed aside. Flippant, with two best girl friends and a little hip fat, she goes bravely through life. She is true to herself and stands by her friends, come what may. Maia writes down her emotions here, using pictures to fill in the blanks when she cannot find the right words. The style is both free and witty, sensitive and vulnerable - just like Maia herself.
