Zusammenfassung

Dieser Artikel stellt Formen der Konzeptualisierung von Öffentlichkeit in lokalen Bildungs- und Sorgelandschaften systematisch dar und befragt sie im Hinblick auf ihre Möglichkeiten und Grenzen. Gleichzeitig wird eine theoretische Ausgangsposition bestimmt, auf die die weiteren Artikel dieses Sonderhefts in unterschiedlicher Weise aufbauen. Dabei geht er zunächst der Frage nach, was eigentlich unter Öffentlichkeit verstanden werden kann und welche Konsequenzen sich für (sozial- ) pädagogische Kontexte ergeben. Daran anschließend werden die Problematik der Repräsentation und die Ambivalenzen von Sichtbarkeit in öffentlichen pädagogischen Kontexten diskutiert. Es wird die Frage aufgeworfen, wer hier eigentlich unter welchen Bedingungen öffentlich in Erscheinung tritt und damit die Möglichkeit zugesprochen bekommt, den öffentlichen pädagogischen Kontext mitzugestalten.

This article aims to systematically present conceptualizations of the public sphere in municipal educational and care contexts and to examine both their potential and their limitations. The idea of a public sphere itself is examined along with the consequences arising from different conceptions of the public sphere for education and social work. The issue of representation and the ambivalences of visibility in public educational contexts are discussed as well as the question of who actually represents the public sphere and is thus authorized to shape the public pedagogical context. The authors hope to provide the theoretical starting point for other articles in this special issue.
