Zur diskursiven Gestaltung von Innovation

Zusammenfassung

Der Text befasst sich mit der Spezifik in der diskursiven Ausgestaltung von Innovation mittels eines Vergleichs mit anderen Formen des menschengemachten Neuen: Reform und Revolution. Ausgehend von einem systemtheoretischen Innovationsverständnis als Zweiheit aus Strukturänderung und Semantik, wird der Vergleich anhand zentral prägender, klassischer Texte entfaltet. Unter Rekurs auf ein derartiges Verständnis von Innovation können wir die spezifische Präferenz zur Innovation in einigen gesellschaftlichen Bereichen (etwa der Wirtschaft) sowie ihre zunehmende Ubiquität, ihre heutige umfassende Bedeutung erklären.

The text presents a specific understanding of the discursive construction of innovation derived from a comparison with two other forms of man-made social change, namely reform and revolution. Starting with a systems theoretic understanding of innovation as a duality of structural change and semantic, we compare these three forms of social change referring to central classical texts. With such an understanding of innovation in mind we can explain the specific fit of innovation with the structures of specific sectors of society, e.g. the economy and the tendency of innovation to become more and more ubiquitous today.
