JANOSCH

Janosch was born in 1931 in the Upper Sileasian village of Zabrze. Before becoming a freelance artist, he worked as a blacksmith, textile pattern creator and at other jobs. Today he is a painter, rhyme-maker, author of children’s books, picture books and novels, the creator of stories and characters and the proud father of Tiger, Bear and Co. His book, Oh, wie schön ist Panama (The Trip to Panama), was awarded the Germany Youth Literature Prize. He lives on a secluded island between the sun and the sea.
